About Our Community Partner -
The Marin City Community Development Corporation (MCCDC) mission is to improve the economic quality of life for Marin City, other emerging communities throughout Marin County, and the region through community economic development. Toward this end, MCCDC promotes business opportunities, creates income generating programs, promotes full employment, builds skills and assets, and promotes economic self-sufficiency. The agency’s efforts focus on increasing incomes and assets for individuals and families, building community wealth and benefits, enhancing business development opportunities, developing, preserving and expanding affordable housing options, and providing technical expertise to the broader nonprofit community.
The Marin City Community Development Corporation was organized in 1979 to facilitate community economic development where low income residents can live, work, and prosper.
MCCDC serves those who have been chronically unemployed and/or who are low wage earners who have traditional barriers to good jobs, incomes, and careers -- economically disadvantaged individuals, disabled, non-custodial parents, TANF recipients, re-entry, and other underserved or underrepresented populations.
Due to the current economic climate and our agency’s commitment to initiatives that reduce the cycle of poverty, we have responded to the 50% increase in service requests by those have been recently incarcerated. This group is our fastest growing population.
